Dave Sanchez, a self-taught artist from Pueblo, Colorado was inspired by his mother. As an artist, she would draw faces and animals - she taught Dave to draw at a very young age which instilled the love of art in him. He said it was a like a"magic show" seeing a blank piece of paper turn into a work of art.

Dave has entered several art shows and competitions and has won numerous awards. He has had several one-man art shows, most recently at the Pueblo Heritage Museum, Colorado State University and the Pueblo Art Guild to name a few.

This show, "Crossing Borderlines”, Dave's subject matter is a series of Catrina’s - Dias De Los Muertos. He loves the way death emerges from the beautiful face of the woman portrayed in his paintings. He has a juxtapose style of art and also paints a variety of other subject matter.
